It’s finally happened. After just under two years, we’ve outgrown our location and it’s time for us to move along to something bigger and better. The new home of Aces High Aviation will be at the Aeroplex & Signature Flight Support facility. We are very excited about what this move has to offer our customers. We will be getting a much larger location, a building all to our own, and, in addition, all of the great services that Signature and Aeroplex can provide. With this move, Signature will become our fuel provider. Anybody who knows FBO’s can tell you Signature is the place to be. In addition, we will have the services of Aeroplex along with all its facilities. Aeroplex is one of the longest standing Aviation facilities at Long Beach. Not only that, parking will be directly in front of our facility and directly south of F2. This should save several minutes on the hobbs for each flight.
With any upgrade our costs will go up. As it stands, we plan to keep our rates exactly as they are and you’ll save an extra few minutes off your flight time. We might need to increase rates a dollar or two, but nothing more. Again though, rates will be exactly the same as they are for now.

Our planes and office will be moving tomorrow. All you’ll need to do is come to Aeroplex for your next flight. Details of our location and procedures will be included on a schedule for every airplane. Just click on it and read the details. Stay tuned as we work the kinks out of fueling procedures and tiedown locations. We will be putting the new phone numbers on the binders and marking the parking spots for each plane. Also, be patient while the dust settles in the new office. Over the next month or two we plan to introduce a few more new items that you’ll appreciate and when its all settled we will host another open house in the spring.

We aren’t done yet though. We also have plans to bring another plane on line this week. For now, all we can say is it’ll be able to provide you a new, inverted attitude on flying.

Our new address will be:
3333 E Spring Street Suite 100
Long Beach Ca 90806
This is just a few hundred yards east on Spring street from our current location. Look for the big sign that reads AEROPLEX.

Our office phone will remain the same, 562-726-3719 and, as a friendly reminder, please call this number exclusively for any AHA business. Please only call Paul or Cody on their personal numbers if there is an emergency needing immediate action.

For those of you that missed it, the Mojave fly out was a lot of fun for everybody who went. We had 4 planes in total there and 9 people. Now we are ready to do it again!

Socal TRACON Tour, San Diego – Feb 21, 2010
We’ve been provided the rare opportunity to tour this ATC facility at Miramar in San Diego. Socal TRACON handles all of the departure and arrival coordination for all IFR aircraft in the Socal area as well as providing services to VFR aircraft.

Our plan is to fly to Montgomery field in San Diego where we will be picked up and drove to the facility by van. I’ve coordinated to have controllers who work the Long Beach area (‘Coast’ sector) to be available for questions. This should provide us a valuable and rare chance to learn a lot more about what is happening on the other end of the radio. I’m hoping we can all learn a lot and put it to work making everybody’s work easier!

Space is limited to and we need to know if you’d like to come by Wednesday, February 9th. Please reply to this email if you’d like to go and let us know if you want to fly yourself, bum a ride, if you’ll be bringing any guests, or if you’ll have any empty seats if you plan to fly. Once we know how many people are going we’ll be able to coordinate an arrival time but expect to leave mid morning. If the group would like we can also plan to have lunch at Casa Machado in Montgomery. We will reserve as many planes as necessary and we can coordinate to find rides and open seats. We’ll also plan on taking our newest addition to the fleet, a 7 seat Cessna 207 Skywagon. More to come on that new arrival soon!

Hope to see you there!

Part of the group before departing the Mojave fly out.
