One-on-one ground and right-seat flight training with an experienced instructor. Move at your own pace and set the schedule that works for you. The most intensive path for students who want maximum instructor attention.

Group · 6-8 WeeksMax 4 students · structured schedule

Small-group ground class with structured peer learning, you teach and you watch others teach. Right-seat flight time is still done individually. More cost-effective than 1-on-1 without sacrificing instructor attention.

Duration: 6-8 weeks
2 students: $70 / hr · ~$3,500 ea
3-4 students: $60 / hr · ~$3,000 ea

1-on-1 · Self-PacedInstrument instructor add-on

CFII training in the same 1-on-1 format as the CFI track, focused on instrument instruction methods, scenarios, and ACS standards. Self-paced. Finish when you are ready.

Group · 2-3 WeeksMax 4 students · structured

Compressed group class covering instrument instructor topics over two to three weeks. Same structure as the CFI group, focused on the IFR teaching syllabus.

Required for Both Paths

Right-Seat Flight Time5-10 hours of flight training

Flight training for both the CFI and CFII tracks is done from the right seat, with you teaching the maneuver while the instructor evaluates. Five to ten hours of right-seat time, in either the Cessna 152 or 172.

C152 (5-10 hrs): $700 – $1,400
C172 (5-10 hrs): $950 – $1,900

HomeworkRequired outside class

Students must dedicate significant time outside of class to complete assignments, develop lesson plans, and practice teaching techniques. The CFI and CFII checkrides are famously about how you explain, not just how you fly.
