Carson
Flight School

8 miles east on the 405. 10 minutes to the ramp.
The nearest full-service flight school to Carson.

Carson sits between two of the busiest airports in the region: LAX to the north and Long Beach to the east. For flight training, the choice is clear. LAX has no general aviation, and Compton/Woodley has limited infrastructure. Long Beach Airport is a ten-minute drive east on the 405 from central Carson, and it gives you a proper towered environment, 13 training aircraft, and 15+ instructors. Carson residents who train here often remark that they had no idea a full-scale flight school was this close.

A Real Training AirportTowered Class D, commercial traffic, three runways
Compton/Woodley (CPM) near Carson is non-towered with a single runway and limited services. Long Beach Airport has three runways, a full-time control tower, and a mix of GA and airline traffic that builds real-world skills. Carson students who train at KLGB learn proper ATC communication from their first flight and graduate ready to fly into any airport in the country.

Fleet Depth Means Availability13 aircraft, rarely waitlisted
With nine Cessna 152s, two 172s, a Diamond DA-42, and a Redbird MCX simulator, we almost always have an aircraft available when you want to fly. Smaller operations near Carson may only have two or three trainers. When one goes into maintenance, your training stalls. Our fleet size means Carson students keep a consistent schedule.
